Directorate of Secondary Education
The
Government, aided and un-aided high schools of the state (from VIII to X
Standard) come under the purview of the Director, Secondary Education.
Although secondary education is free in the state, it is not compulsory as in
the case of primary education. Due to several concerted efforts made for
the universalisation of primary education during the last decade, there has
been an increase in the demand for secondary education facilities .
